Everything that was there was beautiful and in working order. I absolutely loved our stay. Great lighting for reading. One bedside lamp flickered. So we exchanged it with one from the other room. The only thing I missed was a few hooks in the bathroom and maybe some hanging space in the bedroom, even if it was on the enclosed verandah. Thanks for having us

After reading other customer reviews about the property I was a little worried about the heating, stairs and cleanliness (being pet friendly) but it was perfect! Great instructions on how to light the fire were given by text. I felt very safe and comfortable (solo visitor) and by Monday did not want to leave! Thank you

  • Very clean and welcoming .. best location ever
  • We requested that the beds be made up as two doubles , as couples and just someone missed that request and we had two twin beds in second room . Not a problem we pushed them together .

A beautiful short stay apartment, and very close to some great eateries. The only down-side was that because of the cold snap we were very cold :(. The heating would have been adequate if not so cold outside!

7 / 10 - Wonderful property with lots of great features.... And doggy friendly ?

  • What a beautiful property in a quaint location. Reminded us of the French quarter in New Orleans. Loved the location, couldn't get much better in Newcastle. Appreciated the property manager Stephen organising for the floor rug to be collected for professional cleaning. He also was receptive to the feedback provided on the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the property. Gorgeous property, beautifully renovated. Plenty of storage and space for suitcases etc. Like a home away from home. Best part was being able to take our dog with us. Loved the sun room, what a great space to sit and read a book on a sunny winter's afternoon. Loved all the comforts of home, artwork, functional kitchen, laundry, the neighbours were lovely. Extremely quiet area. Close to cafes and restaurants. Wi-Fi, TVs in each room. Lots of love and thought put in to this place. Even an indoor dog bed and bowls provided. Loved the warm outdoor shower - this would be amazing in summer when swimming at the beach. Heaters worked beautifully and property was obviously well insulated as kept warm even on the coolest days. Had a parking permit which made it easier and cheaper to park in the area. Very much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or book this property. As mentioned, some basic things let it down but hopefully this is now improved upon for future guests.
  • The only negative which is the reason for the rating given.... The maintenance and cleanliness of the property needed improvment. Especially considering an extra fee is charged for cleaning if your dog stays. This is partly the responsibility of those who stay there with their dogs too though. Ceiling fans extremely dusty (very noticeable when lying in bed), blinds extremely dusty, windows needed cleaning, dog poo in amongst the multiple weeds in the courtyard (which I removed and cleaned up so this shouldn't be an issue unless weeds return) , floor rug had a smell of dog urine, bin in kitchen not emptied after previous guests (contained multiple tuna cans which also had a bad smell). Kitchen very disorganised and every cup in the kitchen had lipstick marks or was dirty/tea stained. A few plates dirty too. Had to do a proper sort, wash and tidy of the kitchen before being able to use anything. Extra caution should be taken, especially due to covid-19 currently. Very steep stairs to bedrooms which could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues - didn't see this mentioned anywhere before booking. Not an issue for us but I think worth a mention (if it's not already mentioned on booking.com). I do think it would be worthwhile providing shampoo, soap and conditioner in large bottles that can be refilled rather than small disposable plastic hotel bottles that aren't great for the environment. But that's just personal preference

Everything about the property is wonderful including the area. A toilet upstairs would be convenient. More bench space in the bathroom area for toiletries would be great, especially when you're a party of four, though I don't know how you could achieve that. Perhaps a blind or curtain hung on the door dividing the bathroom from the kitchen as you can see through the glass when the bathroom is in use. That was ok though as we hung a towel over the door. Standing over the toilet to use the mirrors isn't pleasant. An outdoor table and chairs would be perfect for the outdoor space for reading, relaxing or enjoying the BBQ provided. Everything about checking in is easy. Would we stay again? Absolutely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
